Duncan Piper, Managing Director of Blue Chip Leaders, graduated in 2009 from the University of York with First Class Honours in English Literature. He then took up his offer from Procter & Gamble to join their Graduate Leadership Programme in business development where he ran a multimillion pound business operation.
Noting the lack of preparedness of young people to enter the workplace, he resigned from P&G and his role as National Business Development Manager to launch The Young Leaders’ Consultancy (which works with some of the UK’s leading public schools to develop cultures of leadership across student and staff bodies). This led him to build Blue Chip Leaders to support other students in need of purposeful and strategic personal development.
Duncan is former Editor of Bad Taste Magazine and Chairman of York Carnival 2008. He is a graduate of Common Purpose’s Frontrunner leadership programme and former Business Advisor to Young Enterprise. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a business coach and mentor, a Governor of The Skinners’ Academy, a member of the Serpentine Running Club (he ran the London Marathon in April 2014 for the RNCF) and a poor (though aspiring) Modern Jive dancer.
